Charity

At Bridge, we believe strongly in supporting worthy causes.  We regularly make charity donations as well as holding our own fundraising days and supporting national charity days.  Our employees are very generous and we recently had our most successful fundraising day ever.

Below is a selection of recent charity activity at Bridge:

The Charlotte Booth Appeal

November 2011

A total of £250 was raised during a charity dress down day and raffle.

RNIB 
June 2011

A charity box was placed in our reception, staff and visitors kindly helped to fill it up with their loose change. 

DASH (Disabled Association for Sport in Hyndburn)
May 2011 

Staff were asked to donate their unwanted trophies and medals to DASH.  This charity for people with mild to severe learning difficulties will re-use and re-badge the trophies and medals and award them to participants for their achievements.

Comic Relief 
March 2011

A grand total of £170.20 was raised by staff on Red Nose Day.  They paid £2 to dress down as well as holding a charity raffle.

Francis House Children's Hospice, Didsbury

January 2011

Staff raised a total of £113 by holding a raffle.  Prizes included champagne and chocolates. 


Help For Heroes

December 2010

Following our win at the Insurance Times Awards we met Chris Evans who was hosting the event.  Evans is a supporter of Help For Heroes and was raising money for the charity earlier in the evening.  As well as signing the back of our award, he also signed two of our Chairman's business cards which we then auctioned off raising £45.30 for the charity. 

Children In Need

Employees were charged for dressing down and a raffle was also held raising a grand total of £211.40.

SHINE Manchester

Friday 26th March 2010

A dress down day was held in aid of the Shine Manchester Cancer Research charity event.  Two members of staff are taking part in the night time sponsored walk and nominated SHINE as this quarter's dress down day beneficiary.  A total of £119.27 was raised by Bridge employees.

Childline

December 2009

Instead of sending out Christmas Cards, Bridge will be including a festive greeting in their emails and making a donation to this very worthy charity.

Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Victoria Cross Committee

November 2009

The committee is raising funds for a memorial to those awarded The Victoria Cross, which was awarded for 'conspicuous bravery or devotion to the country in the presence of the enemy'.  Committee Treasurer C. P. Stewart explains that 'it is with the support of organisations such as Bridge that our task of raising the funds for the memorial to these great men will in time succeed'.

Children In Need

Friday 20th November 2009

We charged employees to dress down as well as having a raffle and a cake stall.  The day was a huge success and was our most successful fundraising day to date raising £307.53 for the charity.

D.A.S.H. (Disabled Association for Sport in Hyndburn)

Friday 26th June 2009

Our summer dress down day supported D.A.S.H, a charity nominated by a Bridge employee.  We raised a total of £144.40 for the charity which was used to purchase a new CD player and replace broken equipment.

Red Nose Day

Friday 13th March 2009

Bridge employees raised over £150 for the Comic Relief charity by donating money for dressing down.  Those members of staff who wore an item of red clothing (Comic Relief noses were counted as clothing!) were entitled to a discount!

Childline

December 2008

Bridge employees held a Christmas Charity Raffle in aid of Childline and raised £136.10.

When You Wish Upon A Star

Instead of sending out Christmas Cards, Bridge decided to make a charity donation to this very worthwhile cause and sent our a festive message at the end of every email.

Experts
